What it had to do.
The books sell only on Amazon, where every listing looks the same. The catalog needed a home of its own that makes the books feel real and sends each visitor to the right Amazon listing.
The structure underneath.
There is no build step and no third-party script. Each title’s details live on the catalog pages as structured data taken from its Amazon listing, and every cover links straight to that listing, so the site never has to hold stock or take payment.

Hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript, served as static files. Self-hosted fonts and right-sized cover images, so nothing slows the first paint; the 3D bookcase is CSS, with a reworked layout for phones.

What we built.
- A homepage bookcase built in CSS 3D, with each book drawn to its real printed size
- Catalog pages grouped by edition, with a cover marquee of the whole collection
- A small, solvable word search puzzle and a viewer for coloring book interiors
- Responsive layouts, with the bookcase reworked for phones

The site is live at ruanroobooks.com, with 11 word search themes and 2 coloring books, each linking to its Amazon listing.
